The word alkyd is a modified term for alcid, which is derived from a combination of alcohols and acids. The fatty acid in the combination of alcohol and acid creates a flexible coating that is commonly used in the manufacture of alkyd paints and molds. Alkyd resins are divided into drying and non-drying groups. The drying alkyd resin dries in the presence of air and the drying speed depends on the amount and type of drying oil. Among the three groups of alkyd oil paints, the glossy alkyd oil paint group has the best washing quality level. Due to the desired gloss, resistance to ultraviolet rays (UV) and color stability, alkyd oil paints can be used as the final coating for indoor and outdoor environments of the building.
