These sources are closed chambers in which water and gas are separately housed and typically constitute between 4/3 and 3/2 volume of water. The water pump sends water to the source by pushing it to the maximum specified gas pressure. This way a certain volume of water is stored in the diaphragm tank and used as needed. As the water in the diaphragm tank decreases and the gas pressure drops, the pump re-operates and fills the diaphragm tank. This prevents the pump from being switched on and off regularly, which in addition to extending the life of the pump, also prevents noise from intermittent pumping. Another advantage of using a 150 liter water pressure source is that it controls the impact of water on and off the pump.
