One of the most important additives in the concrete industry is concrete adhesive. Concrete adhesive applications include concrete repair, sealing, restoration of old concrete tissues, increased concrete strength, prevention of concrete cracking, increased chemical and mechanical properties, etc. Concrete adhesives can be divided into epoxy and latex (polymer). All adhesives either contain polymers or are produced by chemical reaction. Polymers bind to adhesives. Latex adhesive is an emulsion of water-soluble copolymer. The appearance of this adhesive is milky liquid. The combination of latex glue with Portland cement and sand creates a water-resistant, chemical-abrasive blend that is used to glue tiles, ceramics, decorative stones, and so on. Epoxy adhesive is caused by the polymerization of two basic components of resin and hardener. When mixing the resin with the baking catalyst it begins. In the baking process, molecular chains react and heat is generated. The highest consumption of concrete adhesive is in the repair of worn concrete. Concrete adhesives are used in the restoration of concrete to increase the adhesion of concrete to the old texture. Concrete adhesive due to its waterproofing properties is used in the painting on old concrete and sealing.
