Introduction of chiller device and its types

What is a chiller?

A chiller is a system that uses an absorption refrigeration cycle or a compression refrigeration cycle to take heat from a fluid, usually water, and cause it to cool. The refrigeration cycle is called the cooling process. In fact, this cycle continues until the fluid, like water or air, is completely cooled by another fluid, such as refrigerant (freon gas). In fact, the chiller fluidizes the heat through the process it performs and transfers it to another environment, which is the result of this process (chiller output) of cold water. Therefore, as its name implies, a chiller is a type of cooling system that transfers the coolant its output to industrial processes or cooling equipment. The important point here is that the chiller, although a cooling device, does not actually cool anything, it only takes the heat from the object and balances its temperature. In the following, we will review this device and introduce its different types. Stay with us.

There are different types of devices (chiller system) which are:
• Compression chillers
• Absorption chillers

In general, chillers are produced in two types of compression and absorption, the application of each of which is different depending on the needs and field of application.

Introduction of compression chillers

As mentioned, a chiller is a system that is used to cool water and ultimately use this water to cool the air around the building or to cool industrial products and machinery. This is exactly how a compression chiller works. In fact, the only major difference that a compression chiller has with other chillers is its structural difference. In general, the components of a chiller are: evaporator, condenser, expansion valve, fans, pumps, absorbers and compressor. In general, the only difference in the structure of a compression chiller is the presence of a compressor.

Introduction of absorption chillers

Absorption chiller is one of the most common fluid cooling systems in the industry. We mentioned earlier that compression chillers use a compressor that differentiates this device from other chillers. On the contrary, in absorption chillers, the compressor is completely removed and has many smaller components. This is the turning point of absorption chillers, which causes the device to use thermal energy to generate cold and cooling, which plays an important role in reducing power consumption and energy savings when using this device.

Absorption chillers themselves are divided into three categories, which are:

• Single effect absorption chiller
• Two-effect absorption chiller
• Direct flame absorption chiller

Single effect absorption chiller

This chiller is the first type of absorption chillers that has a low coefficient of performance and efficiency compared to other absorption chillers. Therefore, these chillers are not very useful today and due to their low efficiency and effectiveness, as well as poor performance, increase the likelihood of further costs, such as the cost of repairs. Therefore, using this type of absorption chillers is not cost effective.

Two-effect absorption chiller

Two-acting absorption chiller is actually a more advanced generation of single-effect absorption chiller that is more widely used today. This system is called two-effect absorption system or two-stage system because it has two primary and secondary generators.

Direct flame absorption chiller

The previous two models (single effect absorption system and double effect absorption system) require steam flow, but the function of direct flame absorption chiller is such that it does not require steam flow and the heat required for the operation of the generator is provided directly from the flame (burner). Turns. In fact, this system no longer needs steam boilers and other equipment, which results in reduced costs and savings. The direct flame absorption chiller also takes up less space.

Advantages of using a chiller

Each of the chiller devices mentioned above has unique advantages. In general, the advantages of the chiller include reducing and saving energy consumption at the same time as high efficiency, as well as reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

Information on the price of different types of chillers and price inquiries from Iranian and foreign suppliers

International constrader System, a multilingual system created with the aim of effective and direct communication between buyers and suppliers. In order for buyers to receive product information, including price and technical specifications, they can send their request or inquiry to suppliers and wait for a response from suppliers. The result of this and direct communication is quick information about prices and how to communicate with suppliers.
